a) Preparing to travel to New Zealand by air

b) Visa Requirements & Tourism Levies

The New Zealand Government requires that all visitors to the country have a visa. If you’re from a visa waiver country this requirement is waived, but you must still hold a New Zealand electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before you travel.

The cost of an NZeTA is $17 through the downloadable app, or $23 online. Processing time can take up to 72 hours.

In addition to a visa or a New Zealand electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA), all visitors to New Zealand must also pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). As of October 1 2024 the cost is NZ$100.

You can request an NZeTA and pay for the NZeTA and IVL online. 

 c) New Zealand Traveller Declaration

Everyone travelling into New Zealand needs to complete a Traveller Declaration form within 24 hours of starting your trip.
